This work is a compendium of the salient features of diseases of the eye for the use of the undergraduate medical student. Dr. Bernard Samuels has written a foreword, and there is a preface by Dr. Webb W. Weeks. As the book is offered only as an epitome of ocular diseases, no fault can be found because of the omission of many diseases or the necessarily scanty treatment of others.
The brief anatomic introductions to each section are excellent because of their brevity. In the section on strabismus no mention is made of advancement as one of the accepted operative procedures.
Owing to the briefness of the text and the lack of illustrations and diagrams, the book cannot be used in place of the usual texts by May, Parsons and others. However, as it is offered only as an outline of Dr. Agatson's courses at Bellevue Hospital, it undoubtedly fulfils
