The first edition of this textbook, which was favorably reviewed in the Archives20: 893 [Nov.] 1938), was reprinted in May 1938, and this, the second edition, is a copy of the first, with an appendix, pages 517 to 627, added. The appendix amplifies subjects previously treated in the text and brings some new matter. The following subjects are taken up : the pupil and its reactions, the muscles and nerves of the eye and its adnexa, papilledema, optic atrophy, patholo-Foville'sinitis pigmentosa, cerebroretinal degeneration, angioid streaks, Foville's syndrome, meningioma of the olfactory groove, congenital and degenerative abnormalities, thrombosis of the intracranial sinuses, intracranial aneurysms, tumors of the optic nerve, arachnoiditis, tuberous sclerosis, Sturge's disease, pathologic conditions of the vegetative nervous system and vitamins. The additions are illustrated with three new colored plates and forty new black and white illustrations.
