SPECIAL NEWS  A dinner in honor of Dr. Walter B. Lancaster was given on October 14 at the Coronado Hotel, St. Louis, by the St. Louis Society for the Blind, in cooperation with the National Society for the Prevention of Blindness and the Association for Research in Ophthalmology. The dinner was given on the occasion of the award of the Leslie Dana Medal for the Prevention of Blindness.


Canadian Ophthalmological Society.  —The sixth annual meeting of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society was held at Toronto, Canada, Sept. 24 and 25, 1943.The following papers were presented :"Color Photography of External Disease," A. Lloyd Morgan, M.D., Toronto ; "Corneal-Scleral Suture," R. J. P. McCulloch, M.D., Toronto; "Sulfonamide Compounds in Local Ocular Conditions," Alson E.
