This excellent treatise was fully reviewed in the Archives (14:315 [Aug.] 1935) when it first appeared, in the same year. The third edition is fully revised and includes improvements in optical glass and in spectacle lenses and a description of contact lenses, telescopic spectacles and newer types of bifocals. These are all sub- jects of practical importance to the ophthalmologist. The book is an up-to-date treatise and contains information which is important and often difficult to acquire. For this the author has placed the reader in his debt, and many will find this manual instructive and useful.
