The second edition of this excellent textbook on ocular surgery comes after a lapse of twenty-five years. The changes which have been made in this volume reflect the many important changes in technique developed during this period, such as intraocular cataract extraction, operations for detachment of retina and corneal transplantation.

The illustrations are superb, the majority being in color. One wonders how it is possible to produce a volume of this character at such a modest price. For those who read French, the book is recommended as an excellent text, and for those who do not, the value of the illustrations is sufficient to recommend the book highly.
