Central Illinois Society of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology.  —The next meeting of the Central Illinois Society of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology will be held at the Abraham Lincoln Hotel in Springfield, Ill., on Sept. 12, 13, and 14. The guest speakers will be Dr. Paul A. Chandler, of Boston, and Dr. Thomas C. Galloway, of Evanston, Ill.

American Ophthalmological Society.  —At the 88th Annual Meeting of the American Ophthalmological Society, the following officers were elected: president, Dr. Conrad Berens; vice-president, Dr. William L. Benedict; secretarytreasurer, Dr. Maynard C. Wheeler, and editor, Dr. Gordon M. Bruce.

Seventeenth International Congress of Ophthalmology.  —The 17th International Congress of Ophthalmology will take place at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, in New York, the week beginning Sept. 12, 1954, marking 97 years after the meeting of the 1st International Congress, held in Brussels, in 1857. This will be the second time in 78 years that the Congress
