Although written in German, this book will be found a useful reference work for American ophthalmologists, largely because of the prominence of the editorial staff, whose writings are well known in this country. The text covers the entire field of ophthalmology and consists of 877 pages, with 369 illustrations, many in color. The illustrations are uniformly excellent, and the text is clearly printed on good paper. The book should be included in all ophthalmologic libraries.
