An "Atlas of Clinical Radiography in Ophthalmology" by Edward Hartmann was published by the French Society of Ophthalmology in 1936. It has been a standard text in this field ever since. Since that time there have been many changes in ophthalmic roentgenology, but Dr. Hartmann, having embarked on many other phases of ophthalmology, and not being a roentgenologist himself, was loath to attempt a revision of this work. Fortunately, Dr. Evelyn Gilles, a roentgenologist, has been particularly interested in the roentgenological diagnosis of ophthalmic pathology. The present book is the happy outcome of their combined efforts, and is an entirely new book and not a revision of the 1936 report. It will supplant the original work and be a valuable authoritative source for this field.
