Howe Award to Dr. Adler.
—At a recent meeting of the Buffalo Ophthalmological Society, Dr. Francis Adler was awarded the Howe Medal by the Chancellor of the University of Buffalo. This is the most recent of many accolades for Dr. Adler whose distinguished career has included the chair in ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania, the Chief Editorship of the Archives of Ophthalmology, and the authorship of several textbooks in ophthalmology. The present award acknowledged his many contributions. The accompanying photograph shows Dr. Robert L. Brown, Acting Dean of the University of Buffalo Medical School, Dr. Thurber LeWin of Buffalo representing the nominating committee, and Dr. Adler.
