Although there is a good deal of material in the ophthalmic literature concerning the manifestations of aging in the eye, this is widely scattered and is difficult to locate should one want specific items. This small volume represents a summation of the available literature which would be valuable on any reference shelf. It makes quite clear how little we actually know about the aging process, a statement which can be equally applied to almost any living tissue.
