Any book which bears Sir Stewart Duke-Elder's name is worthy of commendation, and the new edition of Parson's is no exception. In essence this is a distillation of the author's well known large textbook, but it is not a simple summary. The text is up to date and is, in fact, 13 pages shorter than the previous edition. This book can be recommended for both students and general physicians not only as a text but also as a reference.
