An automatic injection apparatus mounted on a micromanipulator is described for mechanical insertion of needle cannula into the anterior chamber of the rabbit eye. The apparatus minimizes the trauma of entering the anterior chamber and reduces the variability in intraocular pressure. This procedure is useful for injection of compounds into the anterior chamber or for evacuation and refilling of the anterior chamber as desired in some test procedures.
