It is extremely difficult for any clinician to keep up with the flood of new drugs, their dosages, relative indications, and contraindications. Doctors Ellis and Smith have published an updated second edition of their 1963 handbook. The first section of 126 pages briefly discusses therapy applicable to the usual subdivisions of ocular disease. The second section equally briefly describes the pharmacology of those drugs commonly used in ophthalmology.
This convenient ready reference manual will be most handy in any clinician's desk drawer. It is hoped that the authors will continue to publish frequent revisions even though it will require their nearly constant application to the task.
