Abstract

A case is reported of accidental macular burn from a Q-switched laser. Reconstruction of the accident indicates that 1 to 3 millijoules of energy entered the pupil. A single intramuscular injection of 80 units of corticotropin (ACTH [Britian]; Acthar, comparable US product) was given. The visual acuity recovered from 20/25-2 to 20/15-2.
