Abstract

Flicker fields from 270 individuals between 6 and 95 years of age were grouped into nine age ranges, each covering a decade and containing 30 individuals. For each decade, mean critical flicker frequencies were computed for 49 points of the visual field situated on the horizontal, vertical, and oblique meridians from 0° to 60°. These were presented in nine tables of standard flicker frequencies. For each field point the confidence limits have been statistically determined and entered into the tables. These values should be applied in field plots to determine the boundary lines between retinal regions of normal and abnormal functions.
