Fluorescence Angiography and Experimental Carotid Occlusion

Arch Ophthalmol. 1968;80(3):377-383. doi:10.1001/archopht.1968.00980050379018

The retinal fluorescence angiography patterns before and during common carotid artery occlusion in rhesus monkeys have been compared. During acute occlusion, there was a prolongation of the development of the phases of fluorescence. Fluorescence angiography may prove to be a worthwhile diagnostic tool in the evaluation of patients with suspected carotid artery disease if the proper equipment can be developed.
