The 24th edition of this standard work needs little comment. May's Manual of the Diseases of the Eye is known the world over. Since the task of keeping such a text up to date is hardly an inspiring one, we must be grateful to Dr. Allen for his continued faithful efforts to provide a ready reference for the medical student and general practitioner.
