This useful handbook, written entirely in the French language, is primarily of interest to those who are acquiring a basic knowledge of ocular histopathology. The volume is concerned with microscopic changes in selected ocular diseases such as diabetes, the glaucomas, macular degeneration, retinal hemorrhages, grouped retinal pigmentation, and endogenous uveitis. One of the final chapters describes a case of "fibrous xanthomas" of the lids, a topic of current histopathologic importance. Upon close inspection of the clinical and histologic photographs, however, the lesions appear to be simply advanced instances of xanthelasma. This handbook is recommended primarily as a reference work for ophthalmic libraries.
