A method of charting and scoring the optic disc from fundus color photographs is presented. The method also permits comparative evaluation of the vessel shift. It may serve as a parameter for long-term evaluation of the optic disc. The concept of an index cupping is presented. Valid comparative studies are needed to correlate this parameter to other known parameters.
