This second edition has maintained its place as a leading reference text of corneal contact lenses. The chapter on the optical principles of contact lenses remains one of the highlights of this book. Techniques of validating the quality and specifications of corneal lenses are described in detail and is essential reading for all those fitters who are naive in their expectations that the lenses they receive from the laboratory are exactly as ordered. Although there are available a number of techniques to modify contact lenses, the ones described in this book have the merit of ease in mastery and reproducibility. Those novice practitioners who seek guidance in instructing their patients in the care and handling of their lenses will find a detailed description of a reasonable routine in this book.
