Glare and the Scatter of Light in the VitreousEffect in Postoperative Retinal Detachment Patients

Arch Ophthalmol. 1972;87(1):12-15. doi:10.1001/archopht.1972.01000020014002
Abstract

Ninety patients who had previous retinal detachment surgery involving diathermy were studied for sensitivity to scotomatic glare and were examined for vitreous turbidity. A positive correlation is demonstrated between the level of illumination required for recognition of a target in the presence of a glare source and the scatter of light in the vitreous.
