Pinch Technique for Repair of Cosmetic Eyelid Deformities

Arch Ophthalmol. 1973;89(4):324-328. doi:10.1001/archopht.1973.01000040326014
Abstract

A solution is present to the problem of accurately judging the amount of skin to be resected in various lid deformities. The technique is to inject hyaluronidase mixed with the local anesthetic at least 30 minutes prior to surgery and to then pinch the skin into a ridge until an eversion of the lid is about to be produced. The ridge will remain standing and can be excised with a scissors. Deformities of the brow, the infrabrow area (the upper and lower lids), and the infraorbital areas are discussed.
