This slim volume is packed with valuable material. The editors have chosen to limit themselves to the afferent visual system and have asked several young neuro-ophthalmologists to contribute chapters. The result is a pleasing mix of review material from which much can be learned.
As might be expected, the material is richest when the author is on a topic that has been of special interest to him, and the coverage tends to get thin and ragged when the author is on a subject that he has included just for the sake of completeness. This volume is a "plus" for the International Ophthalmology Clinics.
