Abstract

• An illuminated orbital retractor that has been designed especially for microsurgery is made of methylmethacrylate and is shaped like an Arruga retractor. It is illuminated by fiber optics. Indications for the use of the illuminated retractor include exposure for repairing scleral lacerations, decompressions of the optic nerve, and orbital fractures.
