• Two patients had nonspecific, but severe, symptoms of ocular irritation. In each case, full ophthalmologic examination failed to show a cause for the irritation. When the patients were observed wearing their eyeglasses, an ectropion, caused by the eyeglass frames, was observed. Changing the frames produced complete relief of symptoms in one patient.
