Abstract

The author has, for a long time, been associated with the editorial staff of JAMA and, for the last few years, has been responsible for the book reviews in that magazine. This book developed out of courses in medical writing.

The author gives most helpful guidelines on how to write a manuscript, how to edit it, and how to revise it. Particularly delightful are his style analyses and his remarks about translations. This book should be profitable for anybody who plans to write a scientific article or a medical book.
