This book is the happy product of a successful cooperation between a distinguished ophthalmic surgeon and a gifted medical illustrator. Dr Davidorf is assisted by a number of faculty members from Ohio State University. The result is a most interesting and instructive book on ocular surgery. The drawings are provided in high magnification and therefore show detail hard to achieve in any other way.
The coverage is nearly complete. All the modern surgical procedures, such as intraocular lens implantation, phacoemulsification, vitrectomy, and others are described.
This book is a delight to look at from an aesthetic point of view. Much more important, however, is its didactic importance; anybody who wants an excellent introduction to ophthalmic surgery should purchase this volume.
