—We wish to inform you that lawyers representing Dr John Bellows of Chicago have written us claiming that Dr Bellows holds a registered trademark on the name "International Glaucoma Congress" and that we should "cease and desist" from using the name "International Glaucoma Society" because of its similarity. Notwithstanding the legal and ethical background of this step, we herewith change the name to The Glaucoma Society of the International Congress of Ophthalmology.The Glaucoma Society of the International Congress of Ophthalmology will meet in San Francisco, Oct 28-30, 1982, in close association and as an official function of the International Congress of Ophthalmology under the patronage of the International Council of Ophthalmology. This meeting is open for registration through Dr John Hetherington, Department of Ophthalmology, Glaucoma Division, University of California, San Francisco, CA 94143.It should be emphasized that the International Congress of Ophthalmology and its divisions
