• The use of miniaturized endoscopes employing modern waveguide technology in ophthalmic surgery has been reported. A case of a severely traumatized orbit with multiple retained foreign bodies occurred in which endoscopy was used to guide removal of the foreign material, thereby lessening the additional surgical insult during extraction, reducing operating time, and aiding in a satisfactory outcome.
