The fact that this is the third edition speaks for the usefulness of this book. The two authors have collaborated on this work for almost two decades. The great advantage of the book lies in its concise and precise text and its illustrations, which are beautiful and clearly sketched. It seems that any ophthalmic surgeon could follow a new operation according to these drawings without much difficulty.
The new edition has been revised and complimented. Arthur C. Chandler, Jr, MD, and Maurice B. Landers III, MD, both from the ophthalmologic staff at Duke University, Durham, NC, have revised the chapters on muscle operations, plastic surgery and retinal detachment, and vitreous operations.
The drawings by Robert Bray Wingate and Robert L. Blake, Sr, are of superb quality and a distinct asset to this atlas.
