Abstract

• The blood-retinal barrier was assessed by vitreous fluorophotometry in eight patients with fundus flavimaculatus (Stargardt's macular dystrophy). Although clinically and histologically lesions are noted at the level of the outer blood-retinal barrier (retinal pigment epithelium), this barrier was intact in all eight patients studied by our fluorophotometric technique.
