To the Editor.  —I commend Richard Parrish, MD, and Vitaliano Bernardino, Jr, MD, on their excellent article entitled "Iridectomy in the Surgical Management of Eight-Ball Hyphema" that was published in the March Archives (1982;100:435-437). My experience with this method of management parallels their experience. I would highly recommend iridectomy use in properly selected cases. The authors stated that iridectomy had not been previously recommended. I reported on the use of iridectomy for this condition before the ninth congress of the Pan-Pacific Surgical Association conducted in Honolulu, Nov 5-13, 1963. The article was entitled "Pathologic, Physiology, and Therapeutic Measures for Three Distinct Ocular Disorders."1 Since it was not published in an eye journal and because the title was unrevealing, it would have been unreasonable to expect Parrish and Bernardino to have known about my article.
