New Officers.  —The officers for 1983 of the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology will be CPT B. R. Blais, MC, USN, president; Dr Robert Stamper, vice-president; Dr Harold Stein, secretary; and Dr Thomas France, treasurer.

Meeting.  —The annual meeting of the New Mexico Ophthalmological Society will be held July 14-17,1983, in Santa Fe. The guest speakers will be Drs Stephen Ryan and Ronald Michels. For further information, contact Dr Walter J. Levy, 465 St Michael's Dr, No. 114, Santa Fe, NM 87501.

Appointee.  —Lisa Semple has been appointed executive director of the National Society to Prevent Blindness, succeeding Virginia Boyce. Mrs Semple was previously executive director of the Fresh Air Fund of New York.

Conference.  —The New York Lighthouse Low Vision Service will present a conference on "Innovations in Low Vision," Oct 5-6,1983, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Low Vision Service. For information, contact the Anniversary
