This book was published previously in West Germany in 1982, and much of this material and many illustrations are taken from previous publications of the author: eg, Reeh, Beyer, and Shannon: "Practical Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery," Philadelphia, Lea & Febiger, 1976; Aston et al, "The Third International Symposium of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Eye and Adnexa," Baltimore, Williams & Wilkins Co, 1982; Ophthalmology (1981; 88:869); and Ophthalmic Surgery (1980;11:169). It presents another simplified (how I do it) presentation of lid surgery as performed at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Boston. There are several errata noted by the publisher. No results are given. Unless a neophyte or general ophthalmic surgeon wants to know how they do it in Boston, this book would be of little use. Should an ophthalmologist perform an occasional plastic surgical procedure on the lids?
