On July 1,1984, Dr Morton F. Goldberg, professor and head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, and member of the Archives' Editorial Board since 1980, became the Editor of the journal, replacing the retiring Chief Editor, Frederick C. Blodi, MD.
Dr Goldberg graduated cum laude and Alpha Omega Alpha from Harvard Medical School, in 1962, and completed his internship in the Department of Medicine of Peter Bent Brigham Hospital at The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, and his residency in ophthalmology at The Wilmer Ophthalmological Institute, followed by fellowships and postgraduate courses too numerous to list.
Winner of multiple distinguished scientific awards, member of the editorial boards of the most important ophthalmologic publications and of more than 20 scientific societies and advisory boards, Dr Goldberg has also authored or coauthored several books, contributed chapters to about 30 others, and published more than
