Canadian Society President Announced.
—Harold A. Stein, MD, is the new president of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society for 1986-1987. In addition, Dr Stein continues as president of the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology, St Paul, Minn.
American Board of Ophthalmology Policy on Recertification Announced.
— The American Board of Ophthalmology, at its June 1986 meeting, established a policy regarding time-limited certification. Beginning with certificates issued by the board after July 1, 1992, a ten-year time limitation will be placed on the certificate such that a recertification procedure will have to be satisfactorily completed to renew the certificate's validity. All current diplomates of the board, as well as those individuals who will receive their certificates prior to July 1, 1992, will not be affected by the time-limited certification in the sense that each individual's certificate will have the same validity as it has now.Prospective residents entering the
