To the Editor.
—Regarding the article on lid retraction by Gonnering in the August 1988 issue of the Archives, I noticed that the author has treated his patients with levator recession, a surgical procedure. I think it would be worth trying therapy with 5% guanethidine monosulfate (Ismelin) in such patients. I prepare it in my laboratory in a 5% or 10% solution.
