• The design of the Mentor Wet-Field eraser (Mentor O & O Inc, Norwell, Mass) has been modified so as to include fluid aspiration and reflux capabilities. This 20-gauge disposable probe minimizes instrument exchange through sclerotomy ports and provides sensitive control over reflux action by minimizing the deadspace volume over which reflux occurs. Safer manipulation of detached retina, membranes, and clots is therefore achieved.
