Dr William Benson's new edition of Retinal Detachment: Diagnosis and Management continues the excellence begun in the first edition. The original text served as a guide for residents, fellows, and ophthalmology practitioners. Its emphasis, as the title implies, was in the management of retinal detachment. Broad-based concepts were clearly described, and while every obscure variety of retinal detachment was not covered, the basic principles and their applications were discussed in sufficient detail that their application to more complex problems is possible. This new edition not only retains the fundamentals stressed in the first edition, but considers several new developments that have occurred in the last decade.

In addition, the text contains a wealth of statistical information. These statistics provide answers to questions often asked
