Stanley Chang, MD, Receives the First International Award of the G. B. Bietti Foundation for Ophthalmology.  Stanley Chang, MD, received the first international award of the G. B. Bietti Foundation for Ophthalmology at the Italian Ophthalmological Society meeting in Rome, Italy, on November 20,1993. The award was given in recognition of Dr Chang's pioneering research on perfluorocarbon liquids for vitreoretinal surgery. Dr Chang is currently professor of ophthalmology at Cornell University Medical College in New York, NY. Prior to joining the Department of Ophthalmology at the New York Eye and Ear Hospital, Cornell University Medical Center, he received his medical degree from Columbia University in New York, completed his ophthalmology residency training at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston, and received sub-specialty training in vitreoretinal disease at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Fla.
