This book is an outline of current ophthalmic laser therapy with the specific aim to illustrate laser technology and therapeutic approaches. The authors are highly qualified for this task, Dr Noyori being a pioneer in ophthalmic photography and ophthalmic lasers, Dr Shimizu being a world renown expert on fluorescein angiography and exploration of the peripheral retina with wide-angle fluorescein angiographic montages, and Dr Trokel adding particular expertise in physics and in the subjects of anterior segment laser surgery using neodymium-YAG and excimer lasers.
The text has 14 chapters with numerous illustrations, including a large number of color photographs. Each chapter has clear subheadings and is accompanied by an extensive list of references compiled by chapter at the end of the book. Beautiful drawings and tables highlight information. Spectacular photographic montages of pathologic conditions of the posterior segment provide very instructive teaching material. The character of the text and the selection
