We were pleased to see the letter by Goggin et al, regarding their 1-year follow-up showing that the diode laser was as effective as cryotherapy in treating threshold disease.1 Regrettably, they were not referenced in our article.2 At this point, we cannot comment on the other aspect of their letter regarding their report at the International Conference of Retinopathy of Prematurity,3 indicating that myopia was encountered less often with the use of the diode laser than with cryotherapy. We have a similar impression, but that has not yet been documented scientifically.
