Casselberry Award Presented.—Dr. Hans von Leden, Associate Professor of Surgery (Head and Neck) at the UCLA School of Medicine, was presented the Casselberry Award at the 83rd Annual Meeting of the American Laryngological Association in Dallas, Texas.
The award is given in recognition for contributions to the "art and science of laryngology and rhinology." Dr. von Leden's award was based upon his investigation of the mechanism of phonation.
The Casselberry Award has been presented only 12 times since it was established 50 years ago. Dr. von Leden is the first recipient since 1949.
First British Academic Conference in Otolaryngology Announced.—The First British Academic Conference in Otolaryngology will be held at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, London, W.C.2., from June 17 to 21 inclusive, 1963.
