To the Editor We read the article “Surgical vs Nonsurgical Treatment Modalities for T3 Glottic Squamous Cell Carcinoma” by Al-Gilani et al1 and we congratulate the authors; however, some potentially misleading details may be found in their article.
First, the T3 glottic cancer category includes heterogeneous subcategories with different extension (vocal cord fixation and/or paraglottic space invasion, and/or minor thyroid cartilage erosion).2 When comparing oncological and/or functional outcomes among patients treated for T3 glottic squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), the results should be analyzed separately for the different subgroups.2,3
