To the Editor We read with interest the article by Nickel et al.1 The results of the study indicated that patients with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) treated by hemithyroidectomy enjoyed better quality of survival and fewer complications than those by total thyroidectomy. The authors recommended that hemithyroidectomy might be a more appropriate surgical therapy for small, localized DCT.
