Calcific tendinitis of the longus colli muscle was first described in children in 1958 and in adults in 1964.1 Kaplan and Eavey2 carried out a thorough review of the literature in 1984, finding fewer than 30 documented cases in the English-language literature. Our literature search revealed only a few more cases in the last 15 years.
