The Annual Meeting of the American Head and Neck Society (AHNS) was held May 11-13, 2002, during the Combined Otolaryngologic Spring Meeting in Boca Raton, Fla. At the business meeting, under the leadership of President Keith S. Heller, MD, 15 new active fellows, 10 candidate fellows, 3 corresponding fellows, and 1 associate fellow were introduced.
The scientific program included 36 oral presentations, 51 posters, and 1 historical vignette. In addition, there were 2 panels that discussed "Surgery in Benign Thyroid Disease" and "Organ Function vs Organ Preservation."
