P086 Production of Proinflammatory Cytokines in Larynx Cancer

Arch Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg. 2006;132(8):883. doi:10.1001/archotol.132.8.883-a

Objectives: The role of proinflammatory cytokines (interferon [IFN], tumor necrosis factor [TNF], interleukin [IL], and IL-10) in the activity of cytotoxic CD 8+ T lymphocytes can interfere in the host's response to neoplastic cells. We quantified preoperative and late postoperative levels of IFN, TNF, IL-6, and IL-10 cytokines in supernatants of peripheral blood mononuclear cell cultures of patients with larynx cancer to check the influence of the larynx carcinoma treatment on the immune response.
