Objective: Medical modeling technology generates 3-dimensional models from computed tomography data. This study was designed to evaluate utility of rapid prototyping models in head and neck reconstruction.
Design: Prospective case series.
Setting: Tertiary referral teaching center.
Patients: Thirty-six patients undergoing bony reconstructions.
Intervention: Medical models were obtained on all patients requiring bony reconstruction of the head and neck. These models were available in the operating room and were used to aid in the resection and reconstructive phases of the surgery.
