George Adams, MD, chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Minnesota, died on April 8, 2006, after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. He will be missed by the entire otolaryngology community, but especially by Donna, his wife of 39 years, their 3 sons and their spouses, and his 5 grandchildren.

Dr Adams had a remarkable zest for life, and his enthusiasm was contagious. He was born in Philadelphia on February 8, 1941. He received his undergraduate education at Penn State and received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed his otolaryngology residency at the University of Minnesota in 1971 and then served in the US Navy for 2 years before returning to the faculty at the University of Minnesota.
